Visions of Heresy is the sixth release in a series of artbooks in the Horus Heresy Series, and was first released in a limited-edition format, and later as a general release hardback. Visions of Heresy is a re-release of the original The Horus Heresy: Collected Visions. This new book contains all the original contents of Collected Visions but with the addition of new artwork by Neil Roberts, and more background information written by Alan Merrett. The book's entire layout now mirrors the look of the Horus Heresy Black Books released by Forge World. Visions of Heresy contains all of the same content as the Collected Visions Omnibus including the four original books in the Visions series, Visions of War, Visions of Darkness, Visions of Treachery, and Visions of Death. These books contain both original artwork as well as images derived from the Horus Heresy Card Game. The volumes also collect edited, previously published Horus Heresy-related magazine articles, and select rulebook information; in addition, original annotations, information, and short stories. The text, along with the art, greatly expanded the background material available at the time on the Horus Heresy. The series outlines the entire Heresy, while providing additional background on it and the wider Warhammer 40,000 universe. The omnibus also contains an exclusive short story, The Kaban Project, which was later reprinted as a stand-alone e-book. At the time of its release, Visions of Heresy contains canon Horus Heresy information up to book 27, The Unremembered Empire.

Synopsis

From the ashes of the Great Crusade, treachery was born. Always first among the superhuman Primarchs, the newly dubbed Warmaster Horus Lupercal turned his back upon the Emperor and embraced the dark powers of Chaos. With fully half the military might of the fledgling Imperium at his command, he set his sights upon the throne of Terra and waged a war which would divide the galaxy forever...Visions of war, visions of darkness, of treachery and death –- all of this and more is contained within this heretical volume. Iconic depictions of the Space Marine Legions and the heroes that commanded them are presented alongside artwork from renowned artists Neil Roberts, as well as brand new historical notes on the Warhammer 40,000 universe by Alan Merrett. Witness the end of an era and the beginning of something far darker, as the Heresy continues to unfold.
