Valedictors Astartes

Valedictors Chapter Colour Scheme

The Valedictors is a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of unknown Founding and origin. Almost nothing is known about this Chapter in Imperial records, save that it was created some time after the Second Founding.

Chapter Appearance

Chapter Colours

The Valedictors primarily wear light green Power Armour. The white squad specialty symbol -- Tactical, Devastator, Assault or Veteran -- is located on the right shoulder plate. A black Roman numeral is stenciled in the centre of the squad specialty symbol, indicating squad number. The colour of the Aquila or Imperialis on the chest guard indicates company number in accordance with the Codex Astartes -- i.e. White (1st Company), Yellow (2nd Company), Red (3rd Company), Green (4th Company), etc.

Chapter Badge

The Valedictors' Chapter badge is a white winged letter "V", on a field light green.

Canon Conflict

The Valedictors were described in detail in two "Epic" articles in White Dwarf (UK) 126 and 136, ca. 1990-1991. At the time, the Valedictors were originally said to be a First Founding Legion which saw action on the Eastern Fringe of the Imperium against Orks, Eldar, and the Traitor Legions during the Horus Heresy. The status of the Valedictors changed in White Dwarf 235, where they are said to be of a "later Founding", (post-Second Founding). Therefore, the Valedictors are no longer a First Founding Legion.
