The iconography of the Ultramarines Chapter
The Ultramar Defence Fleet is the collective System Defence Force of the worlds that comprise the Ultramarines Chapter's Realm of Ultramar. The Ultramar Defence Fleet is the space-borne wing of the much-larger Ultramar Auxilia. Operated by the mortal Human citizens of Ultramar as opposed to the Ultramarines, the Ultramar Defence Fleet is unusually powerful for an SDF, and operates and maintains warships equivalent in firepower and effectiveness to Navis Imperialis heavy cruisers.
The warships of the Ultramar Defence Fleet took part in actions against Hive Fleet Behemoth in the Battle of Macragge in 745.M41, as well as the Invasion of Ultramar by Honsou, the Ultramar Campaign of the 13th Black Crusade, and the Plague Wars of the Era Indomitus. Recently a fleet of Ultramarian warships has been assigned to assist Captain Demetrian Titus and the Ultramarines 2nd Company in expanding the borders of Ultramar back to their pre-Horus Heresy extent of five hundred worlds on the order of Primarch Roboute Guilliman.
Among them is the Magnificence Enthroned, an Emperor-class Battleship seconded from the Ultramarines' Chapter fleet to serve as the flagship of Commodore Gaius Silva, a member of the Wardens of Ultramar.
Notable Ultramar Defence Fleet Officers[]
- Commodore Gaius Silva - Gaius Silva has been assigned to the Ultramarines 2nd Company's Command Squad, the "Wardens of Ultramar", to serve as the commander of the fleet of Ultramarian warships assigned to aid Captain Demetrian Titus in expanding the borders of the Realm of Ultramar. He has been seconded the Magnificence Enthroned, an Emperor-class Battleship of the Ultramarines' Chapter fleet to serve as his flagship.
