First off, this is not a recruitment thread, this thread is to help re-build the Realm of Chaos, and all of my future campaigns, into a much better experience.
After a very long hiatus, I've decided to re-evaluate the RP (and future RPs), and decided to scrap almost everything outside of the story, characters, and plot devices. Previous campaigns will still stand though.
From here on out, I will be taking the role of GM, with both the sentinels of war and the Undivided of vulture becoming full NPC factions, along with most major forces in a game.
Players will either be single characters, or have command of a squad. Alternativly, players may be grouped into a single squad for the duration of the campaign. In certain campaigns, 'command slots' may be available, these slots allow a player to command an army as a character in high command, such as a company colonel, or Astare Captain (or the chapter's equivlient.) Additionally, one 'High command' slot may also be available when command slots are active., which allows a player to be a chapter master, lord-general, etc, However, for the ease of process, their will not be command slots in the reboot.
As for general rules and such, all campaigns will usually follow the Badass rule set, with any modifications you guys can suggest.
Additionally, I am retconnning vulture's hold over the khorne daemons, he does not control them... yet...
Moving on to the actual campaign though, this thread is meant to help shape how it will work, through your input. For now, here are the basics:
After a long period of widely succesful covert action, Vulture has begun to put his grand plan into motion, not because it is time, but because of circumstance. The almost complete destruction of the thelican sector had robbed him of most of his army, forcing him to recruit. After ten years, whilst barely a blip on the immperium's radar, he had ammased a possibly even larger army than he previously had. Turns out taking down a god gets around fast in the warp. Millions flock to him, seeing him as the one true god of chaos, a title he only reluctantly accepts.Â
Now, vulture is posed to invade the eye of terror itself, in order to subjagate and unite chaos under him, and to bring down the remaining three gods. Vulture Will take the eye, it is not a question of if, but a question of when.
Within the eye, the various forces of chaos have temporarly banded together to destroy this new 'god'. (I was going to continue with this... but I can't think of good intro for chaos right now. If anyone would like to make one, your welcome to.)
A surprising development to say the least, the imperials have also sent their forces into the eye. As to why, records recovered from a recently discovered space hulk showed a massive STC cache, a discovery the mechanicus wouldn't ignore. With some 'help' from the current master of the administratuam, the fabricator general recieved a small imperial force that would be sent to recover the cache. Of course, this force enters the eye at the exact point when vulture launched his invasion. The imperial force are not here to defend the eye, but they may get caught up in the largest war chaos has ever waged, against itself.
How it 'could' work:
1) All at once
You will all become characters of either chaos, or the imperial task force. You can organize yourselves into squads or be in seperate squads/command seperate squads. You will experience the war on the frontlines, where every battle could be your last. This will culminate into several 'event' worlds where all players will participate.
OR
2) Sectioned
Instead of having every story at once, why not completely seperate it. Instead of playing as any of the factions, you will be limited to a single faction in one RP. This will split the RP into 3 to 4 different RP's, each focusing on a different faction in the conflict during different stages of the invasion. For example, the first RP would be focused on the imperials, than the next would focus on chaos, and one final faction that won't be revealed at this time. The final Campaign will allow you to chose from your previous characters (if they survived) to participate in the final battle of the conflict.
I'm more partial to this one...
Enemies you face will fall into the following:
UOV
Vultist: Stock standard cultist, decided to rename themselves in vulture's glory. Very weak individually.
Vuldier: Fallen guardsmen and Vultists taken through the warpforge. Actually having been trained in combat, they make up the bulk of the UOV. Mainly level-headed (enough anyway), to not charge the enemy needlessly.
Chaos Space marine: See main chaos space marine page for info. These marines follow vulture willining, and their champions will usually be leading large portions of his army.
Warpforge marines: Marines either created purely from the warpforge, or normal CSM sent through the warpforge. Their is a clear difference between the two. Created marines work on a hive mind mentality, never talk, and are generally improved versions of astares. Almost 75% were lost in the thelican campaign, putting them in more of an elite roll, instead of being on the front line. CSM sent through will recieve the same improvements, but are generally stronger as a result. They will always be in some form of commanding roll, usually leading a sqaud of pure-born WFM.
Obliteraters: With the warpforge, creating these monsrtosities is done in weeks. They fill a permanent anti-anything roll, and will usually be deployed against 'persitant' foes, or in larger battles.
Commanders: Varying from sorcerors to champions, these enemies will always be named, and will always be tough to kill. They will always be leading the largest forces and may even be a Warte. Treat with caution. Some may have Judgements...
Vullture's hand- The inner circle of vulture's followers. these men, women, and even xenos, are the most trusted and highest in command of the UOV. They are an incredibly rare encounter, but possible if your paths cross...
Considering how powerful vulture is, vulture will not be invovled directly in the campaign... Until necessary...
For the imperium, you will more than likely face normal chaos forces alongside the UOV in the campaign/their campaign.
So what do you guys think? I'm very much open to advice, feedback, and criticism.
