Does anyone see a resemblance between the Arbites and the Judges in Judge Dredd/2000 AD? Warhammer and GW were founded in the 70s/80s at a time when 2000AD was very popular in Britain. I see similarities in the uniforms, and the brutal efficiency of the Megacity Judges matches the style of the Arbites, which is quite suitable for "policing in the 41st Millenium". Maybe someone can find design notes or sketches demonstrating this inspiration.

Judge Dredd Influences[]

The Adeptus Arbites were specifically modelled by the Games Workshop designers on Judge Dredd. So yes, the similarity is well-known and Warhammer 40,000 tends to conglomerate many of the strands of distinctively British science-fiction and fantasy that were current in the 1980's when it was first created.

Ranks[]

Perhaps it would be beneficial to include a rank structure? The Organization section only mentions specialists, squad types and the composition of an Arbitrator Squad. The article also mentions the Grand Provost Marshal as the head of the organization in general. However the article mentions nothing about the rank sructure between the ranks of Proctor and Grand Provost Marshal. Supahbadmarine 03:16, January 13, 2012 (UTC)
