An Ultramarines Desolation Marine sergeant armed with a Vengor Launcher and its under-slung, belt-fed Castellan Launcher, as well as a signum targeting device that allows him to guide his entire squad's missiles towards their targets.
A signum is a man-portable, tactical communication and data management cogitator employed by the Adeptus Astartes and the Adeptus Mechanicus which allows the user, usually a Space Marine sergeant, to access a myriad of useful battlefield targeting data and pass that information on to their fellow combatants, allowing for more accurate and coordinated fire by the entire unit.
Signums are available to members of a Deathwatch Kill-team as well as Techmarines, Firstborn Devastator sergeants, Desolation Marine sergeants and the Tech-priests known as Enginseers who serve alongside the Astra Militarum. While useful on its own, pairing a signum with the interconnected power armour autosenses of a squad of Space Marines allows them to strike their foe with deadly and inescapable coordinated precision.
