Segmentum Tempestus is the region of Imperial space South of Segmentum Solar. The fleet headquarters in the Segmentum is Bakka.

Regions

  • Hell Stars - This group of stars resides in the Garon Nebula
  • Garon Nebula - This nebula encompasses the Hell Stars, and was the site of the ill-fated Garon Nebula Crusade of the Black Templars Chapter of the Space Marines.
  • Ophidium Gulf - This region lies in the glactic south of Segmentum Tempestus.
  • Veiled Region - This region lies in, and to the galactic south of, Segmentum Tempestus.

Amerikon Sector

  • The battleship Merciless Death disappeared in this sector.

Donorian Sector

Unknown Sector

  • The Planet Volistad was first colonized by the Imperium in [M35.979]. However, history of Volistad at this point is unknown. Warp Storms isolated the planet while still in its sociological infancy, left to develop on its own for the next 3,500 years. When Volistad was re-discovered by the Imperium in [M39.437].
  • The Barnardi Prime System - This system, and those surrounding it, were home to the Narnardi Conflict, which involved the Chaos battleship Merciless Death.
  • The Planet Drachus - In this hive world, Von Castellan swindled Guilders.
  • The Khreak System - This system holds a Black Templars keep.
  • The Planet Ophelia IV - This cardinal world was an alternate home to the Ecclesiarchy prior to the Age of Apostasy. The rich Convent Prioris of the Adepta Soroitas was located here.
  • The Planet Ophelia VII - This densely populated world became the home of the Ecclesiarchy under Benedin IV in M35.200 and is home to the Convent Prioris of the Adepta Sororitas of the Order of Our Martyred Lady. It is home to Schola Progenium Seminaries. It is one of the most ancient cardinal worlds of the Imperium.
  • The Planet Raas Bisor - This is an Imperial Guard foundery world.
  • The Planet Targis VIII - This hive world is locked in perpetual night and lies on the fringes of the Halo Stars in the galactic south. Ork warlords were defeated here by the Raven Guard.
  • The Planet Tarsis Ultra. This planet was assaulted by Tyranids, but the Ultramarines, assisted by Captain Brannon of the Deathwatch, fought them off.
  • The Planet Banelund XI, the Imperial Colony was attacked by Dark Eldar, slaying all 1,200 colonists. Site of Eldar warp portal artifact.
  • The Planet Danubis, a Dead Planet. Visited by Explorator vessel Lux Imperator, which disappears (later found in Polonis nebula with no crew). Possible Necron lair.
  • The Planet Krieg, where the Autarch declared independence from Emperor in M40.433, Colonel Jurten of the Death Corps used atomic cleansing to subdue the rebellion, turning Krieg into a toxic, ash polluted wasteland for 500 years. Home of Imperial Guard Unit The Death Corps of Krieg, renowned siege-breakers.
  • The Planet Luther Mcintyre IX, a Desert world. Home of Ambulls, Crawlers, Sunworms, and Micah dragons.
  • The Planet Solstice, notable for the victory of Uriah Jacobus over a Genestealer cult.
  • Tethrock Quay Imperial Naval Outpost. Reports of increasing Necron activity.
  • The Planet Chamos. A rebellion led by Duke Mormant in 35th millenium. 10 light years from Tallarn.
  • The Planet Tallarn. This desert world of two orange suns was fertile until virus bombed by the Iron Warriors during the Horus Heresy, but is now covered with sulpherous sand, with inhabitants living in domed cities or underground caverns. Tall vapor-trap towers rise over the settlements. Human discovery of the Cursus of Alganar brought on an Eldar attack before the gate opened to a chaos horde. The Tallarn and Eldar united against the foe and resealed the Cursus. At the Ka'an Salient, 50000 tanks clash in largest tank battle on record in Imperial history. The Imperial Guard Desert Raiders fought Slannesh at the site of the Cursus. Legio Mortis titans fought here.
  • The Planet Gryphonne IV, a Forge World.
  • The Planet Posul the home to the Mortifactors Chapter of the Space Marines.
  • The Planet Kiavhr a Forge World, and the planet around which Deliverance, the base of the Raven Guard Chapter, is located.
  • The Garon Nebula, which is close to Ork empire of Octavius.

Spartus Sector

  • The Plenet Jericho III, The Dark Eldar destroy the capital, killing over 20,000 inhabitants.
  • The Planet Stratix, a Forge World. Raiding Dark Eldar raid polar arsenal, steal experimental military hardware. An Imperial Guard recruit world.
  • The Planet Vistro an Imperial Convoy en route to Vistro is attacked by Dark Eldar, taking ore and destroying several ships.

Loki Sector

Orpheus Sector

  • The Planet Sanctus Prima. Planetary Cardinal urges "War of Faith" against all aliens in the Orpheus Sector. The Biel Tan craftworld in the area hope to avoid the war by fighting the Dark Eldar, but Dark Eldar break through and attack Imperial forces.
  • The Planet Kurzon's Fall, an Imperial Jungle world. Dark Eldar attacks prompt the Cardinal of neighboring Sanctus Prima to urge for War of Faith against all aliens in the Orpheus Sector.

Coptis Sector

  • The Planet Karis Cephalon, an Imperial world and the site of an astrological convergence. Mutant slave labor trade broken up by Inquisitor Tyrus. "The Angel" a weapon from Dark Age of technology is hidden in catacombs under the Amethyst Palace, the world's capital, which is centered around pre-Imperial construct known as Needle of Sennamis (possible psychic conductor). Settled during golden age, resettled during Great Crusade [350.M30]. 5.3K light years from Earth.

  • The Planet V'run
  • The Planet Epsion Octarius - Catachan and Konrar Imperial Guard Regiments fought on this Ork world. Its mangrove swamps are home to Crotalids and its mineral rich regions are home to ferro-beasts. The center ring of planets was lost to Hive Fleet Leviathan.
  • The Planet Jurn

Other Places of Interest

The Beil-tan craftworld is located in this Segmentum. It is most famous for its participation in the battles against Hive Fleet Leviathan.
