A Sagitaur of the Greater Thurian League; also shown are the optional weapons available for use in its main turret, including, from top to bottom, an L7 Missile Launcher, a HYLas Beam Cannon or a MATR Autocannon, as already deployed on this vehicle. The ATV also possesses forward-mounted, twin-linked Votannic Bolt Cannons directly below its cockpit.
The Sagitaur, also called the Sagitaur ATV, is a rapid-response, all-terrain vehicle employed by the Leagues of Votann. Designed to survive the worst that hostile worlds and alien predators can throw at it, the Sagitaur is a rugged ATV ideally suited for scouting operations and swift, armoured offensives.
Sagitaurs deploy a remarkable amount of firepower for vehicles of their size, and can even knock out enemy battle tanks in certain circumstances. Each is capable of transporting 5 void-armoured Kin infantry like Hearthkyn Warriors into combat.
Role[]
The Sagitaur was designed by the Kin for surveying inhospitable alien terrain, and is suited to scouting operations and lightning-fast armoured offensives alongside Hernkyn Pioneers. Its armoured carapace is durable enough to shrug off everything from rockslides to plasma blasts, making it an ideal spearhead for any League-sponsored colonisation effort.
Sagitaurs usually operate in pairs -- they are remarkably heavily-armed for their size, with nose-mounted, twin-linked Votannic Bolt Cannons complemented by a swivelling main turret weapon, such as a HYLas Beam Cannon, a Sagitaur Missile Launcher, an L7 Missile Launcher or a MATR Autocannon.
Once the two Sagitaurs are right up in enemy lines, they disgorge their ornery cargo -- a full squad of ten Kin infantry, which can be split between the two vehicles. These hardy warriors pop out, engage enemy units with their superior weaponry, and claim vital objectives -- while the Sagitaurs speed off to deliver their heavy firepower wherever it is needed.

Trivia[]
The name "Sagitaur" may be derived from the astrological sign and constellation known as Sagittarius. It may also be a portmanteau of Sagittarius and centaur, another figure drawn from ancient Greek myth. This would be in keeping with the use of names drawn from Norse and Greek mythology for much of the Leagues of Votann's culture.
