This is a pictorial list of known Space Marine Chapters (A-L) created by Games Workshop. It does not include the nine Traitor Legions.

However, it does include Renegade Chapters of Chaos Space Marines as well as those Space Marine Chapters considered Excommunicate Traitoris by the High Lords of Terra, whether they serve the Dark Gods or not.

This cannot be considered a complete list as not every Chapter in existence in the Imperium of Man is known.

Summary
Dark Angels Updated Scheme.jpg
DAB3.jpg
Dark Angels The Dark Angels were the first of the original 20 Space Marine Legions created during the First Founding in M30. Though they claim complete allegiance and service to the Emperor of Mankind, their actions and secret goals at times seem at odds with that professed loyalty, as the Dark Angels strive above all other things to atone for an ancient crime of betrayal that occurred ten thousand years earlier, at the end of the Horus Heresy

At a basic level, all Doom Eagles accept that they are already dead men in the service of the Emperor of Mankind. This is the root of their courage and their unshakable resolution and determination to stand in the face of even the greatest odds.

Doom Warriors Colour Scheme.jpg

Doom Warriors The Doom Warriors are a Codex Astartes-compliant Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of unknown Founding and origin. The Doom Warriors have a defect in the Catalepsean Node as a result of a mutation in their gene-seed. They were created as one of the 20 Chapters of the Astartes Praeses -- to stand sentinel of the worlds near the Eye of Terror. Eventually, they came to be obsessed with acquiring relics and weapons of the Chaos Gods, and to use these malefic weapons against Chaos itself. To reflect their newfound obsession of such relics, they came to be know as the Relictors. They were later declared Excommunicate Traitoris by the Inquisition for the continued use of Chaotic artefacts. Only a few hundred Relictors remain.

Fire Hawks The Fire Hawks were one of the Loyalist Space Marine Chapters created in M36 during the Cursed 21st Founding. While the Fire Hawks have always maintained they were descended from the Ultramarines, the sons of Roboute Guilliman have never acknowledged any kinship. They have the dubious distinction of being one of the few Chapters that have lost two Chapter home worlds. After being nearly driven to extinction during the Badab War, the Fire Hawks' mobile fortress-monastery, the ancient Void Fortress Raptorus Rex, was lost in the Warp in 963.M41. It is now believed that the survivors of this disaster became the cursed Astartes known collectively as the Legion of the Damned.

These Astartes came to believe that it was a blessing by the Emperor, but the Inquisition did not share the Chapter's belief, and when the Chapter returned to their home world of Lethe to celebrate their victory, they were attacked and almost completely destroyed by a force of Grey Knights.

Flesh Eaters The Flesh Eaters are an infamous Loyalist Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels Chapter, created during the 3rd Founding in M32. Grey Knights The Grey Knights are a secret, mysterious Loyalist Chapter of Space Marines specifically tasked with combating the dangerous daemonic entities of the Warp and all those who wield the corrupt power of the Chaos Gods. They have the honour of being implanted with gene-seed engineered directly from the genome of the Emperor Himself. The Grey Knights act as the military arm or Chamber Militant of the Ordo Malleus, the Daemonhunters who form the oldest branch of the virtually omnipotent Inquisition. Unlike other Astartes, every Grey Knight is a potent psyker. Yet, in the 10,000 standard years of Imperial history, no Grey Knight has ever been corrupted by the Ruinous Powers of Chaos. Summary
Lamenters Battle-Brother.jpg
Lamenters Livery.jpg
Lamenters The Lamenters are an unfortunate Loyalist Space Marine Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels, created during the 21st Founding, known as the "Cursed Founding". It seems the gene-seed Flaws known as the Black Rage and the Red Thirst were cured by the Chapter through unknown means, but this secret cure may have been lost along with the Chapter at the hands of the Great Devourer. Perhaps more than any other Chapter of the present era the Lamenters seem to have been cursed by a dark shadow that has long determined their fate. They found themselves on the wrong side during the Badab War and were thereafter devastated by the Tyranids.

Legion of Night The Legion of Night is a Loyalist Codex Astartes-compliant Space Marine Chapter of unknown origin and Founding. This Chapter hails from the world of Outrenacht. The only thing known with any certainty about these Astartes is that the Legion of Night's combat doctrine revolves around the use of Tactical Squads that utilise the Chapter's large pool of armoured transports. These are used to perform surgical strikes or seize strategic points with the aid of fast-moving Razorbacks or Rhinos. Like their fellow Chapters the Angels of Fury and the Raven Guard, the Legion of Night has forged their combat doctrine around such highly mobile insurgent tactics.
