A Paragon Blade is an ancient melee weapon first forged by unknown means during the Dark Age of Technology in pre-Imperial times. These blades were few in number even in the early days of the Horus Heresy and took a number of forms. The most common Paragon Blades are two-handed Power Weapons of extraordinary balance and durability.
However, Paragon Blades have also been made in the form of various kinds of Chain Weapons like chainswords and chainaxes whose blades are fitted with the teeth of terrifying xenos-beasts from the Halo Stars as well as night-black sickle-swords.
All Paragon Blades were considered prized possessions by the elite Space Marine and Sisters of Silence warriors lucky enough to earn the right to wield one.
