The icon of the Adeptus Administratum
The Officio Medicae, also called the Departmento Medicae, is the division of the Adeptus Administratum that deals with public health and other biomedical issues across the territory of the Imperium of Man.
The Officio Medicae operates state-owned medical facilities like hospitals, clinics and biomedical research institutes across the galaxy on many of the more technologically advanced Imperial worlds.
The Officio Medicae is also the public health service of last resort for the Imperium, overseeing the quarantine of worlds afflicted by deadly plagues -- natural and Chaos-created -- likely to spread to other planets through interstellar commerce and transport.
Despite its often crucial duties, the Officio Medicae is as rife with bureaucratic corruption and inefficiencies as all the other divisions of the Administratum.
