Master of the Rites

The Master of the Rites is the title traditionally given in Codex Astartes-compliant Space Marine Chapters to the Captain of the 6th Company. In addition to his company command duties, the Master of the Rites, as the name implies, oversees all the rites and important rituals of the Chapter cult.

Notable Masters of the Rites[]

Captain Epathus (Ultramarines) - Epathus is the current Captain of the Ultramarines' 6th Company and Master of the Rites. He led the 6th Company alongside the Dark Angels and their allies during the Siege of the Fenris System in 999.M41.
Shadow Captain Syras Colfaen (Raven Guard) - Syras Colfaen is a Shadow Captain of the Raven Guard. He is the commander of the 6th Company and is the Raven Guard's Master of the Rites.
Master Araphil (Dark Angels) - Araphil is the current Master of the Dark Angels' 6th Company and the Chapter's Master of the Rites.
