The Legio Ulricon were a Traitor Titan Legion of the Dark Mechanicus that repudiated their oaths to the Emperor of Mankind and followed Warmaster Horus into the service of the Ruinous Powers during the Horus Heresy. There is very little information in the Imperial records about this obscure Titan Legion, though it is suspected to have been founded before the Age of the Imperium, during the Age of Strife. They were known to have fought alongside the Night Lords Legion in the Thramas Crusade, keeping the Dark Angels at bay for over three years, so as to delay their deployment in support of the Loyalist cause. They were utterly devastated in a carefully coordinated ambush by the Dark Angels, who proceeded to destroy the Legio Ulricon's flagship, spilling it cargo of wrecked Titans into the void. It is not known if they took part in the final campaign of the rebellion during the Battle of Terra or whether they were outright destroyed during this ambush action.

Notable Campaigns

  • Thramas Crusade (ca. 005-008.M31) - During the opening days of the Horus Heresy, Warmaster Horus sent Night Haunter and his Night Lords Legion and their allies, including the Legio Ulricon, on a campaign of genocide against the Imperial strongholds of Heroldar and Thramas in the Aegis-Sub-sector of the Eastern Fringes, thus protecting Horus' flank and delaying the Dark Angels Legion from reinforcing the Loyalists. This bitterly contested campaign dragged on for nearly three years, until the Dark Angels successfully broke the back of the Night Lords Legion and their allies in meticulously executed ambush. During this engagement the Legio Ulricon suffered the loss of their flagship along with dozens of Titan war engines to the void.
