The Legio Ulricon, also called the Legio Ulicon, was a Traitor Titan Legion of the Dark Mechanicum that repudiated its oaths to the Emperor of Mankind and followed the Warmaster Horus into the service of the Ruinous Powers during the Horus Heresy.
The Legio Ulricon was known to have fought alongside the Night Lords Legion in the Thramas Crusade of the Horus Heresy, keeping the Dark Angels Legion at bay for over three standard years, so as to delay their deployment in support of the Loyalist cause on Terra.
They were utterly devastated in a carefully coordinated ambush by the Dark Angels, who proceeded to destroy the Legio Ulricon's flagship, spilling its cargo of wrecked Titans into the void.
It is unknown if any remaining elements of the Legion took part in the final campaign of the Warmaster's rebellion during the Siege of Terra or whether they were destroyed outright by the Dark Angels' assault.
Legion History[]
Notable Campaigns[]
- Thramas Crusade (ca. 005-008.M31) - During the opening days of the Horus Heresy, the Warmaster Horus sent Night Haunter and his Night Lords Legion and their allies, including the Legio Ulricon, on a campaign of genocide against the Imperial strongholds of Heroldar and Thramas in the Aegis Sub-sector of the Eastern Fringes, thus protecting Horus' flank and delaying the Dark Angels Legion from reinforcing the Loyalists on Terra. This bitterly contested campaign dragged on for nearly three standard years, until the Dark Angels successfully broke the back of the Night Lords Legion and their allies in a meticulously executed ambush in space while the Traitors were in transit. During this engagement, the Legio Ulricon suffered the loss of their flagship along with dozens of Titan war engines, which tumbled out into the void after the Legio Ulricon's flagship was badly damaged.
- Scouring of Arten's World (Unknown Date.M31) - The Legio Ulricon, supported by Knight Banner Zholon-Kuthos of the traitorous House Makabius, won its darkest honour in this campaign, slaying three times their own number of Knights of House Vornherr.
