A Jamming Beacon is used by the Land Speeder Storms of the Adeptus Astartes as a sophisticated hull-mounted jamming array that sends out pulses of Vox-scrambling static to foul the enemy's communications along with interfering with their access to crucial navigational information.
The array operates in both the electromagnetic and etheric-wave bands, allowing the jammer to interfere with enemy communications and wireless signals. The Jamming Beacon can also cause enemy Teleport Homers to malfunction within its area of effect, which can have a devastating effect on the units being teleported. One of the most common uses for these devices is for Scout Marines to deploy behind enemy lines and wait for allied forces to attack the enemy.
Using the Jamming Beacon the Scouts can prevent the enemy from not only summoning reinforcements but communicating with their allied forces entirely, allowing the Imperials to wipe out the enemy without fear of reprisal.
