A Hypno-Casque is a type of hypno-inducer similar to a Hypnomat used by the Officio Assassinorum, the Inquisition and certain Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes like the Imperial Fists to rapidly induce knowledge into its members. A Hypno-casque uses hypnotic sights and sounds to induce a hypnotic state in its user to help them rapidly assimilate new knowledge provided by the device into their memory.
Hypno-casques are often employed aboard voidships during transit of the Warp to quickly learn new skills and languages, particularly the dialects of Low Gothic spoken on worlds where the personnel using the Hypno-casque are to be deployed. The Adeptus Astartes also uses the Hypno-casque to force-teach prospective neophytes from their various recruiting planets how to speak both standard Low Gothic and understand the ritual High Gothic used in many Chapters and by the Imperial elite.
