The Hekaton Land Fortress is the primary main battle tank and armoured personnel carrier deployed by the Leagues of Votann.
The iconic battle tank and armoured transport of the Leagues of Votann, the Hekaton Land Fortress is as venerable and well-respected as it is powerful. With a fearsome arsenal of heavy weaponry and tremendously resilient armour -- and with the ability to bear bands of twelve Kin warriors into battle -- it is a versatile military asset for any Oathband or Kinhost.
Role[]
The Hekaton Land Fortress is covered in thick void armour panels, has a cavernous transport capacity of 12 Hearthkyn Warriors and Cthonian Beserks, or 6 Einhyr Hearthguard in their bulky suits of exo-armour or 4 Brôkhyr Thunderkyn in their exo-frames. It positively bristles with the deadliest weapons the Kinhosts can bring to bear and its existence is a statement in maximalist weapon design from the Kin, who are some of the greatest engineers in the galaxy.
Ferrying Kin across the battlefield is an important job in its own right, but the Land Fortress is also a potent weapons platform. As standard, the Hekaton comes with a Pan Spectral Scanner for sweeping terrain, a Cyclic Ion Cannon as its main turret weapon that unleashes high-powered, directed blasts of ionised energy, a rear-mounted MATR Autocannon, and a whopping four Bolt Cannons -- the latter on spherical mountings arranged at the front and sides of the Land Fortress' chassis for maximum field of fire.
Kin engineers can swap out two or all of the Bolt Cannons for Ion Beamers, and exchange the primary turret weapon for an SP Heavy Conversion Beamer, an STC weapon that has been enhanced by the Brôkhyr that the Imperium especially covets. And when the Leagues absolutely need to obliterate a heavy armoured vehicle or turn an elite heavy infantry squad into a fine mist, the Land Fortress can mount the truly fearsome Heavy Magna-rail Cannon.
The utility of the Pan Spectral Scanner can also be traded for a missile launcher hardpoint, with a choice of three devastating munitions. These include the haywire havoc an Ancestor's Vengeance Warhead can unleash upon enemy electronics and other machinery, the armour-busting power of a Mountain Breaker Warhead, or an infantry-shredding Kin's Wrath Warhead.
The Hekaton's multipurpose design is evident in the plethora of details strewn across its looming chassis. Tough roll cage bars and various heavy-duty searchlights hark back to the Kin's industrial mining expertise, while the reinforced canopy covers the Land Fortress' Hearthkyn driver and his Ironkin co-pilot.
