Icon of the Adeptus Custodes
The Grav-Spartan was a variant of the Spartan Assault Tank used during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy by the forces of the Legio Custodes that made use of an anti-gravitic propulsion system in place of the standard tank's treads. This system had been devised by the famed Mechanicum techno-archeologist Arkhan Land following his recovery of ancient Human STC fragments containing the designs for the technology.
Other than its anti-grav abilities, the tank was otherwise largely similar to its non-gravitic counterpart in abilities and available weapon loadouts. It was deployed by the Custodians for the same tactical roles in which it was used by the Legiones Astartes -- heavy armoured assaults of entrenched enemy positions.
