Graham McNeill is a game developer for Games Workshop. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and studied architecture and then building surveying at the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian University from 1989 – 1996. In 1996 he started work in an architects’ office designing new flats and commercial properties, until he saw an advertisement for a writer in the December 1999 copy of White Dwarf.
In February 2000, Graham started work for Games Workshop as a staff writer for games development, writing articles for White Dwarf and many of Games Workshop's tabletop wargame army-specific books. In May 2000 he started writing for the Warhammer 40,000 team, but also kept up writing articles for White Dwarf. Graham was heavily involved working on codexes for the various factions of Warhammer 40,000 until 2006. After leaving Games Workshop in 2006 he became a fulltime freelance writer, but currently continues to produce novels for Black Library at a regular pace.
Graham plays both T'au and Necron armies in Warhammer 40,000, though he started with the Ultramarines. He also enjoyed Warhammer Fantasy Battles, in which he played an Empire army.
