An Einhyr Champion is an elite Kin warrior who often commands all the Einhyr Hearthguard formations of the Leagues of Votann present in an Oathband. The Einhyr are themselves already an elite formation of Kin assault infantry who fulfil tactical roles as deep strike troops, bodyguards, and voidship boarding parties, among others.

An Einhyr Champion of the Ymyr Conglomerate armed with a Darkstar Axe engages his modified exo-armour's mass driver accelerators and storms into the midst of the Tyranid swarm like a living thunderbolt.
Einhyr Champions wear modified exo-armour outfitted with a technology known as a mass driver accelerator that allows them to move their great armoured bulk for short periods with intense speed.
Combined with their formidable close quarters melee weaponry and bulky RAM Shields, this wargear transforms them into living battering rams whose preternatural accelerated charge hits hard enough to smash clean through armoured fortress gates.

Trivia[]
The name "Einhyr" is a fictional cognate to the einherjar of Norse mythology, which means literally "army of one" or "those who fight alone" in Old Norse. The einherjar are those who have died in battle and are brought to Odin's hall of Valhalla in Asgard by valkyries.
In Valhalla, the einherjar eat their fill of the nightly-resurrecting beast Sæhrímnir, and valkyries bring them mead. This usage would be in keeping with the use of Norse themes for much of the culture of the Leagues of Votann.
