The Divisio Militaris, sometimes called the Officio Militaris, was the High Gothic name for a division of the government of the early Imperium of Man during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy eras of the 30th and early 31st Millennia. Its purpose, as the name suggests, was to oversee all of the bureaucratic and administrative functions of the military forces of the Imperium. Its most important task was to administer the immense logistical needs of the Great Crusade.

Its duties included overseeing supply, manufacture and transport of materiel for the forces of the crusade, as well as gathering intelligence and coordinating the deployment of the various expeditionary fleets to their next targets. The top-level officials of the Divisio Militaris were known as "strategos."

In the wake of the Horus Heresy and the reorganisation of the Imperium's governmental and military structure early in the Time of Rebirth by Lord Commander of the Imperium and Imperial Regent Roboute Guilliman, the Divisio Militaris was folded into the Adeptus Administratum as the subdivision later known as the Departmento Munitorum.

Note[]

The Collegia Titanica has four "divisiones," the Divisio Mandati, the Divisio Telepathica, the Divisio Investigatus, and most importantly, the Divisio Militaris, which is the main fighting force of the Collegia Titanica. This Divisio Militaris is separate from the Divisio Militaris described above, which was a different but similarly named institution overseeing all Imperial military operations during the Great Crusade.

The Collegia Titanica's Divisio Militaris and divisiones were originally described in the 1st Edition of Adeptus Titanicus in 1988.
