BFGCarnage

A Carnage-class Cruiser.

The Chaos Carnage-class Cruiser is a fleet support Cruiser that uses vast banks of extremely long-ranged Weapons batteries to provide cover fire for other ships. It is especially good at destroying Eldar spacecraft by overwhelming their Holo-fields with sheer volume of fire, though it fares relatively poorly against the heavily-armored prows of Ork and Imperial ships.

The Carnage class was ill-fated from the start, with many technical difficulties encountered trying to power such long-range weaponry causing much division within Battlefleet Obscurus. It was further marred when the very first Carnage-class Cruiser, the Relentless, turned to Chaos during the Skalathrax Landing (a different world than the Daemon World Skalathrax), thereby earning the new name Initiate of Skalathrax. Since that time, many more Carnage-class Cruisers have turned traitor as well.

Notable Carnage-class Cruisers

  • Initiate of Skalathrax - The first Carnage-class Cruiser ever built, the Initiate of Skalathrax was also one of the most infamous. Originally named the Relentless, the Initiate of Skalathrax was renamed after it turned its guns on six transports that it was supposed to be guarding during an invasion of the world Skalathrax. The troops in the few surviving transports that reached the surface were quickly overwhelmed due to their drop site having been compromised. The Initiate of Skalathrax would survive for another three millennia of raids and convoy attacks until Imperial agents finally destroyed it while it was docked at the traitorous Darkstation in the Priam Sector during the Gothic War.
  • Anarchic Vendetta - The Anarchic Vendetta turned to Chaos after its crew mutinied, left the butchered remains of their officers on Station 26/A, and then violently tore the ship out of dock. The Anarchic Vendetta then proceeded to deal heavy damage until it was finally forced to flee by the Apocalypse-class Battleship Duke Helbrecht.
  • Excessive - The Excessive fought and earned renown during the Gothic War.
  • Wanton Desecration - The Wanton Desecration fought and earned renown during the Gothic War.
