The Angels of Light is a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter and a Successor of the Blood Angels, raised during an unknown Founding.
Created as they were from the Blood Angels' gene-seed, the Angels of Light are also heirs to the genetic flaws common to all scions of the Primarch Sanguinius, including the Red Thirst and the Black Rage.
Chapter History[]
Four standard years before the Angels of Light answered the call of the Blood Angels to come to their defence during the Devastation of Baal, the Chapter's entire 3rd Company was destroyed in battle with the Eldar.
Notable Campaigns[]
- Devastation of Baal (ca. 999.M41) - The Angels of Light answered the call of the Blood Angels to defend Sanguinius' homeworld, Baal, from the depredations of Hive Fleet Leviathan. There is no data on how large a force the Angels of Light deployed, or the outcome of that force's fate during the conflict.
Notable Angels of Light[]
- Captain Seutona - Seutona was the Captain of the Angels of Light's 5th Company. He had a great hatred against the Eldar for the losses they had inflicted upon the Angels of Light. He was among the forces the Chapter deployed to aid the Blood Angels during the Devastation of Baal. During a council among all the Blood Angels Successor Chapters to prepare the defence of Baal from Hive Fleet Leviathan, Seutona accused Scaraban, the Chief Librarian of the Flesh Eaters Chapter, of having consorted with the hated Eldar in order to further his quest for knowledge about the Tyranids. To Seutona's indignation, Scaraban readily admitted to having done so for the benefit of all. The Flesh Eater then put forth the theory that perhaps the Tyranids were a species seeking to further their own evolution and that the Hive Mind represented an intermediary stage in the Tyranids' eventual attainment of true, spiritual transcendence. It is unknown whether Seutona survived Hive Fleet Leviathan's assault on Baal.
