This is my Homebrew Legion/Chapter
It's a long read. But I tried to capture the scene focusing on their Primarch.
I don't expect much come back lol, so read on if you dare...
When the Primarch’s were scattered, the primarch of the XIth landed on a rather desolate planet, known as Occludus. Here a small group of what can only be described as guardians found the Primarch. The guardian’s have appointed themselves as protectors of the planet Occludus and it’s artifact, the Shariax, also known as The Glass Throne. It’s purpose was unknown, even the guardians did not know what it’s purpose was, they just said that they were put onto Occludus to protect it.
The Primarch's arrival on Occludus apparently happened over a number of days. Unlike the other Primarchs who crashed and burned into their planet landings, being over in a matter of moments. The XIth Primarch seemed to arrive at his planet’s surface in slow motion, the impact of which was tame in comparison to his bothers landings.
The guardian’s watched, unbeknown to them as their destined leader approached their planet. It was described as a comet in the night sky, growing larger day by day as it got closer to Occludus. The guardians followed the path of the XIth Primarch across their sky, and after 5 days, followed him to where he had landed. A boy told to be no more than 1 years old was found. The guardians found him unconscious and rescued him, bringing him back to their temple, their home, the location of the Shariax.
The guardians were simple foke, their knowledge seemed absent from visual clarification, this was assumed, as they lived like cavemen. No modern technology, nothing more than the basics, they weren’t unable to advance themselves, it was thought they chose not to. Their knowledge of technology was not foreign to them, nor was it not understood. The guardians were indeed extremely intelligent people, who simply chose not to advance their ways! Their belief was that the direction and way they should evolve was to be decided by their destined leader.
Their knowledge, as said, was vast, they taught the Primarch boy everything they knew. The guardians brought him up with respect, a great deal of humanity and sense of humility. Within two years of his arrival he was the size of a 3 year old boy. Nothing was unusual about the XIth Primarch. Other than the fact he landed on their planet they thought of him no differently than that of their own children. Over the following 15 years leading towards the Primarch's 18th birthday, the Primarch had fallen to illness just like his guardians did, he ate like they did, he worked as they did. He just seemed like any other young man, who had found his place within the family of guardians who guarded Occludus and it’s artifact.
We know that other Primarchs grew faster, became stronger and had already achieved so much more by their 18th birthdays. But, what they all lacked in comparison to the Xith Primarch was that of the understanding of what it is to like be a simple human. To be seen as ordinary. To see life from a struggling perspective and to have fallen ill, been helpless and what it meant to have respect for those around them.
The Primarch’s 18th birthday had arrived, just like all of them before. He spent it the same way he always did, with his guardian family. He did his usual daily tasks before it was time to go to bed. Just like every other night, the guardians, and the Xith Primarch went to sleep every night at the same time. The now 18 year old Primarch, woke the following morning, to a broken bed, ripped clothes and sense of disorientation. He had grown to the point he dwarfed overnight, what was going on he thought? He had the weirdest of dreams that night, he dreamt he was this man of extreme stature, interlegt, strength and knowledge. That he had become this person of power so vast that he had advanced his guardian family to a new technological era. He still knew what he had spent the last 17 years learning, he was still himself it seemed. He still loved his family. He just went to bed this one night during his dream, and woke up in the morning to his broken bed. Was it a dream? Was it real, or was it a vision of the future...he couldn't make sense of it all. Was this the here and now, or was he still dreaming?
His answer soon followed, his guardian father entered his sleeping area, him self a man of great standings, he stood above 6 feet, so not average by any human standard but to find a monster of a man stood in front of him emphasised the true scale of the XIth Primarchs new presence. He was no longer a 18 year old boy, not someone he could recognise. He asked this stranger who he was... the Primarch responded… “I am Lysander Nestor”. The Primarch’s guardian father responded bluntly, “who exactly?” To which the Primarch replied, “I am Noah father! Your son, and I now know our purpose here on Occludus. And yes, I know my birth name and what I was created for...it all came to me last night father, in my dreams! The last 17 years have taught me so much, how to be human, how to understand their struggles, how to care for others and how to love...and I thank you for that. But now I am so much more than how you raised me to be. I am human, super human in fact, so please do not fear me father, I am destined to lead us into the future. Trust me as I have trusted you for all these years”. His guardian father knew it the day he first saw the comet in the night sky those 17 years ago, he followed his instinct, his heart and knelt down upon one knee, and spoke proudly “My Lord, You Have Been Found”.
For the last 18 years, nothing unusual was ever stumbled upon by the Primarch, he was blissfully unaware that he was different, or even special in any way. But now, the primarch had powers, gifts and abilities that would allow him to advance his people into greatness. He knew who had created him, and how, he did not know how he knew...he just knew it to be the truth.
Time started to move on, he had been, since shortly after his 18th, communicating with a certain individual in his sleep. Lysander spoke to this man every night. They would revel in each other's stories and teachings, they became good friends, and although they never met in physical form, Lysander and unknown man could project themselves across the stars, using their minds. Not only this but the Xith Primarch had learnt to do this not only whilst sleeping, but awake too. Lysander even taught himself to project himself into the minds eye of his guardian family. And even though they themselves did not hold such talent they were able to speak with Lysander even when apart. It would seem the Xith Primarch had a great deal of psychic ability. But, this was not all he could do. He was able to move time itself, he would for short period of time rewind events, and all around him would know no different. On few occasions Lysander would use this ability to avoid danger, taking a second stab at the moment that initially took him off guard. Although very powerful, Lysander had yet to perfect this ability and therefore could on rewind time a number of hours at most, and even then this would drain a great deal of his power. And it would take days for him to fully recover.
Lysander by his 21st birthday had led his guardian family to a technological era some could say was only matched by that of the Eldar. Which in turn brought to light the purpose of the Shariax, which is thought to be even older than he could imagine, possibly dating back to the war between the C'Tan Shards and the Necrons. Lysander would often in secret, sit upon The Glass Throne. It would have dwarfed his former self, now however it fitted like it was made for him. All though he was told he could never sit upon the throne by his father he now felt the choice was his own to make. As such, one day he made the decision to sit upon it...and at first nothing seemed to be any different, he felt in no danger, why was his father always warning him away from the Shariax? Then, suddenly, he felt his mind grip him, forcing him back into the throne, his mind opened, and at vision of a nebular was there before his very eyes. Bright coloured lights shone out from within the storms of the nebular. Using his thoughts, he was able to control a projection of himself and move towards the nebular. If he tried hard enough to focus on any one of those bright lights, he would find himself rushing through space, everything would be a blur momentarily, then nothingness, followed by sudden jalt, he now would find his projection upon a planet's surface, not of his own, but of some unknown origin. After a short while he would find himself closing his eyes, as if he was being forced into a sleeplike state. He think about returning to Occludus, and when he did finally open his eyes again, he would find himself sat upon The Glass Throne. The first time he took this unusual journey on his return, he found his father and his whole family stood there in sheer amazement. But why he thought? Lysander asked his father what the problem was? His father responded with “well, you were frozen my Lord, like a literal stone. Your body turned to stone slowly, over a space of several hours''. The Primarch believed he had only been sat on the Shariax for a short while, when in fact it had been nearly 6 whole hours. Time obviously moved differently for the Primarch whilst he sat upon the throne. But it did so only for him whilst he was sat upon the Shariax.
After some thought, deliberation and research Lysander believed he had found a way to travel from planet to planet, not only with his mind but if he so desired it with his whole body too. After all, he thought he could project himself to the otherside of the universe with his psychic abilities. What other use would this Shariax have? Over many months following his first seating upon the Shariax, still in secret, the Primarch attempted to manifest himself in physical form upon a planet not of his own. Each attempt left him petrified to the Shariax, like a statue. Until this one day, he met an old friend, the man from his dreams, the individual he conversed with on a daily basis using his psychic abilities. This time it was different, he was on a planet, he had not been to before, stood in front of a Golden Throne. This Golden Throne was very similar in shape and size to the Shariax back on Occludus. The Golden Throne was empty. Strangely enough there wasn’t a sole in sight. Usually his trips to alien planets would result in some form of meeting with other civilizations, be that in mind projection only, but all the same...it was nice to speak to others from different backgrounds. Lysander made the choice, he sat on the Golden Throne, closed his eyes and thought about home. This time, however, ended very differently than normal. Rather than waking up on the Shariax, he opened his eyes to find himself still stood before the Golden Throne. However, it was no longer empty: a man, a huge man, if not bigger then himself sat opposite him. The man said “welcome Lysander, my friend, it is so good to finally meet you in the flesh”. Lysander shocked, responded, “is that you old friend? Is communicating via our psychic abilities not good enough for you anymore?”. The man sat upon the Golden Throne, was dressed as he always was, in a robe, much like that of Lysanders...something similar to what a priest would be wearing. This man stood up, rather abruptly. Throwing down a hand upon Lysander's shoulder. He stood about a foot taller than Lysander, and even though his presence was immensely powerful, Lysander felt there was something more. “You thought of home did you not Lysander?” said the man. “I did, but this is not home” responded Lysander “I wouldn’t be so sure about that, my friend,” said the man. And with his hand still upon Lysanders shoulder, the man spoke softly to Lysander “Stop for a moment, take a breath and think of all you know. You know how you were created, and by whom. Me and you are so alike don’t you think?” Lysander paused for a moment and then proudly bellowed “Creator, My Emperor” and knelt down upon one knee, “I am home”.
The Following years were spent travelling to and throw from Occludus and Terra, communicating with his Creator. Lysander now knew his friend to be the God Emperor of mankind, and yet felt no differently about the man then he always did...if anything at all it would be that he found a new loyalty for his Emperor. Lysander and his guardian family were never combatants, they never had the need to be. But as you’d expect the natural ability of a Primarch to adapt and learn quickly allowed Lysander to become a force to be reckoned with. Not only did his creator teach him to use his psychic abilities as a weapon, he also taught Lysander traditional combat methods.
The Emperor felt a strong bond with Lysander, probably more so than with his other sons, even though time apart was always inevitable when the Emperor was off planet, their psychic abilities still allowed them to communicate. This, as well as Lysanders devotion to the Emperor resulted in him receiving the largest Legion of Adeptus Astartes to have ever graced the Imperium, “The Son’s Of Nestor”, Nestor, Greek for “Homecoming”. It is thought that due to the psychic abilities of both the Emperor and Lysander, that Lysander was in fact the first of the Primarch's to be found and reunited with their creator.
As to why the XIth legion was erased from existence is completely unclear, but it was believed that back at home on Occludus the XIth Legion and their Primarch delayed their departure to meet up with the Emperor at the start of the Great Crusade because Lysander’s guardian father was terribly ill. Growing up as human for 17 years and not a Primarch had made Lysander in some ways too compassionate for his new found position beside the Emperor of mankind. But as he loves and cares for all humans deeply, his connection to his father ran deeper than that for any other. Sadly after less than a week, Lysander’s father died. The loss of his father sent Lysander into a state of depression. He sat himself upon “The Glass Throne'' and wouldn’t move, speak, or even communicate with the Emperor. It is said that he tried so hard to change the event that led up to his fathers death, and that for some reason he couldn't rewind time far enough to make a difference for his father. Lysander's pain and sadness for his loss was too much to bare, and his grief caused the Shariax to explode.
The explosion sent an immense wave of psychic powers across the universe. It was so strong that the Emperor knew instantly that it was Lysander who caused it. The explosion was so large in fact that the light it emitted shone into the darkness of space for thousands of years. At the time the Emperor could no longer reach Lysander, be it via mind projection or first hand visual inspection. When the emperor and his fleet arrived at the location of Occludus, it was not there. There were no signs of an explosion, no planet debris, nothing. The only thing left where the planet once was was a void of dark nothingness. No stars, or anything else could be seen within it. All probes sent into the void just floated on by where Occludus once inhabited space. The probes returned zero data on what had actually happened. And all data once stored within the Imperium’s database was no longer accessible. It's strongly believed by the Emperor that Lysanders psychic blast wiped him, and his Legion out of existence. The Emperor to this day will not speak to anyone about the XIth legion and their Primarch. For all intents and purposes, he is the only living being who ever knew they even existed, as any other that did, have been exterminated.
In the late M35 early M36 the 13th “Dark Founding '' the Emperor gave Merrin Corcaedus a vision that led Merrin the first Chapter Master of the Death Spectres to the planet of Occludus, which out of nowhere had re-appeared where it once was no different than it was when Lysander and the guardians occupied its surface, this time however there was not one sole living upon it. The Emperor sent the Death Spectres beyond the Imperium’s frontiers and charged them with duty to maintain a constant vigil to keep the inhabitants of the Ghoul Stars system, location of planet Occludus safe
It is believed that the Emperor sensed the return of the XIth Legion and it's Primarch Lysander, and therefore sent the Death Specters back to the reemerged planet of Occludus to feed the Shariax with life force. Thus supply the energy required to return Laysander and his legion. The Emperor is adamant, and alone in the thought that Lysander isn’t dead. Because If he were, he would surely have known.
The Glass Throne is where the Megir rules from. Watching over the planet of Occludus, the Ghoul Stars system and the Chapter of the Death Specters. Upon taking the throne, a Megir will never rise again, inevitably dieing upon it, sacrificing themselves willingly.
In return for immense power given to the Megir, the throne slowly drains the life out of whoever sits in it, while also slowly petrifying them, eventually turning the Megir to stone. What this mysterious power is that is given to the Megir is unknown, except for the sheer scale of it. It is the thought of the Emperor that this power is Lysander's. The emperor believes the Primarch of the XIth will return one day when the Imperium is within its darkest hours of need.
As current events stand, Lord Commander Of The Imperium, Roboute Guilliman is seen by many as a greater threat to the Emperor of Mankind and his Imperium, more so than the threat posed by the Chaos Gods. While on the surface of things, Guilliman has been working to uphold and reinforce his father’s Imperium. The Primarch of the XIII seems to have plans of his own. In truth, the Avenging Son has been hard at work undermining the long-standing Imperial apparatus. Like an insidious Chaos Cult, Guilliman and his followers have wormed their way into every aspect of the Imperial government. He has co-opted vital figures and institutions, broken the power of those who oppose him, undermined the pillars of Imperial power, and waging a secret war for control of Mankind.
For this is the belief of many, that their Lord Commander will indeed reinstate his own secret heresy against the Imperium with clever tactics and misdirected attempts to solidify the Imperiums position against Chaos, offering a false sense of security for mankind and his father, the God Emperor of mankind as he fulfils is own personal mission to gain control of the Imperium for himself.
It is for the uncertainty instilled by Roboute Guilliman that Lysander and his XIth Legion, now called “The Time Keepers” have finally found their way back home to Terra and their Emperor. "Your Time Has Come & I Am The Final Chime You Hear Before You Die"
