Ultramarines have freedom of choice to worship the emperor as a god This is said in Calgars seige He is ther chapter master He said he worships the emperor bee intensely but not the primarch
Thing is, when Calgar features in other books such as Graham McNeill's Ultramarines series, he undoubtedly venerates the Emperor for he is the master of all mankind, but he is never really portrayed like he worships the Emperor as a god.
I kind of think this might just be a case of GW using multiple authors which naturally creates inconsistencies
Seems like you're beating your head against a brick wall on this one Ghaz... though I do wholeheartedly agree to your responses, there are many inconsistencies due to the sheer density of authors involved. So unfortunately this has created some situations like right now where you have someone who takes only one small addition to the vast totality of the Canon and interprets it as holy writ because they want it to legitimize something they believe in.... All you can do is be proud in what you've said so far and ignore any more messages that are exactly the same as the previous 4 messages
